Mt. Murnovec

On the summit of Mt Murnovec, 1867 m.

Walking on the ridge.

Double happy, however, is the man whom lofty mountains tops are within reach, for the hights that shine there illumine all that lies bellow. (John Muir)

Western Karawanken

On the way to Mt. Murnovec.

This part of the Karawanken ridge borders on Austria in the North and Italy on the West.

Because of the border area it was forbidden to walk here in the time of Yugoslavia.

There are still no marked paths here and no mountain huts.

Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the autumn tree. (Emily Bronte)

So I spend almost all the daylight hours in the open air. (Nathaniel Hawthorne)
